Zone archival is the ability to remove a zone from active use while still retaining historical data on it.
Archiving zones serves different purposes:
- Data conversion for existing projects
Should a project want to transition from a non-hierarchy dynamic to a zones hierarchy dynamic we make sure to conserve historical data associated with the zones that were part of the old setup. - Conserving historical data
When a zone is archived, we conserve historical records. All reports on the system will return historical records associated to archived zones. - Keeping your project clean and organized
As the project's progress advances, you may want to move readers around your site from a finished area to an unfinished area. When an area is officially complete and doesn't need to be tracked anymore, you can archive the zone to have a cleaner view of the zones that you're actually tracking.
