Eyrus for Superintendents & Foremen

Eyrus gives Superintendents and Foremen reliable, objective data about their workforce without adding work to the job site. Workers register once, badge in and out automatically, and Eyrus handles the headcounts, hours onsite, access control, and reporting — so supes can spend their time running the project, not filling out spreadsheets.

1. Why Superintendents Choose Eyrus

Superintendents are responsible for what happens on the ground every day — knowing who is on site, where they are, whether they're authorized to be there, and how many hours are being put in daily. Eyrus captures all of that automatically, giving supes an objective, real-time picture of their workforce without interrupting the work.

Reliable Registration & Access Control

Supes rely on Eyrus to ensure that every worker who comes through the gate is registered, badged, and authorized. Access control is enforced passively at readers and turnstiles — workers who aren't cleared for a zone or whose access credentials have lapsed simply can't enter. No manual gate checks, no exceptions slipping through the cracks.

Objective Workforce Data Without Encumbering the Work

Eyrus tracks workforce activity through badges and readers — workers don't need to do anything differently. There are no apps to open, no check-ins to remember. The data is captured automatically, which means it's objective and complete.

Hours Saved Every Day on Headcounts and Reporting

One of the biggest time sinks for any superintendent is reporting daily headcounts and workhours to the project team and owner. Eyrus eliminates this entirely — headcount summaries, hours by company, and man hours reports are generated automatically and can be scheduled to deliver themselves via email.

Visibility by Company and Trade

Supes can see in real time how many workers from each subcontractor are on site, which zones they're working in, and how their hours compare to what was planned. When a trade is understaffed, it shows up in the data immediately — not a week later in a meeting.

"We use Eyrus to fulfill client requirements for access control and security. I like that we can use Eyrus to identify the workers on the project. We also track the time in and out for our contractors."

— Superintendent, General Contractor

"It's a good system that automatically registers workers and tracks who is on site. This gives us automatic headcounts and workhours for the day. This saves time instead of having to build reports and create employee charts. The system can be seen by different people in different departments so it totally streamlined the process."

Worker Registration & Badging Supes need to know that every worker who shows up on site is registered and badged before they start work. Eyrus handles registration digitally — via self-registration, bulk upload, or single entry — and ties each worker to a badge that activates their access. No paper sign-in sheets, no manual rosters.

Automatic Time & Attendance Badge readers capture time-in and time-out for every worker automatically. Supes no longer need to manually track or compile workhours — Eyrus does it in real time. Individual timesheets, daily headcounts, and total hours by company or trade are always available without any manual effort.

Access Control by Zone Supes can control which workers can access which areas of the site. Access permissions can be set by company, trade, individual, or zone — and are enforced automatically at readers and turnstiles. Workers who aren't cleared for a zone simply can't enter it.

What are Zones?

Real-time Headcount & Workforce Reports Pull a live headcount for the entire site or any zone in seconds — broken down by company, trade, or individual. Automated daily, weekly, and monthly reports replace the manual process of building headcount summaries and man-hour charts, saving supes hours every day.

Worker & Subcontractor Management Supes can view and manage individual worker profiles, edit attributes, reassign workers between companies, flag workers to revoke access, and use the People and Company directories to quickly look up who is on site and who they work for.

Zone Dashboard & Map If using BLE - The Zone Dashboard gives supes a real-time view of how many workers are in each area of the site at any moment. The Zone Map provides a visual layout of zones and reader placement — useful for site planning and confirming that coverage is correct.

Site Security & Hardware Eyrus hardware — badge readers, turnstiles, kiosks, and hand scanners — provides reliable, passive site security without slowing workers down. Supes can monitor reader status, troubleshoot hardware issues, and use on-site reset to resolve access problems quickly without back-office support.

Evacuation & Mustering In an emergency, Eyrus gives supes a live headcount by muster station — showing who is on site, their last known zone, and whether they have checked in at their assembly point. Evacuation verification can also be done via the mobile app using NFC.

3. Typical Day-to-Day Workflow

Here is how Superintendents and Foremen typically use Eyrus from the start of a project through daily operations.

  1. Project setup: configure companies, zones, and access. Add all subcontractor companies and their workers to the project. Define site zones — gate, laydown areas, work zones, muster points, restricted areas — and set access permissions for each. Establish zone operational hours so access is automatically restricted outside working hours.
  2. Onboard workers before day one. Share the self-registration link with each subcontractor so their crews can register before mobilization. Otherwise, they would do registration via QR code during their safety briefing / orientation onsite. Some GC's prefer this workflow.
  3. Start of each day: verify who is on site. Check the on-site now headcount on the dashboard throughout the day or drill into the project insights to see additional details / breakdown by trades, zones or companies. If you're using BLE, you can use the Zone Dashboard to see where workers are distributed across the site various site zones.
  4. Manage access issues as they arise. When a worker's access is flagged or a badge needs to be reassigned, handle it directly from the platform. Use On-site Reset to resolve access control issues quickly without waiting for back-office support. Flag a worker and/or remove their access for workers who are no longer authorized.
  5. End of day: review hours and communicate updates. Use automated daily reports to confirm hours worked by company and trade — no manual compilation required. Send any end-of-day notices or next-day updates to the whole workforce or specific crews via mass SMS.
  6. Weekly and monthly reporting: zero manual effort. Schedule automated workforce and progress reports to be delivered to the project team, PM, or owner on a regular cadence. Use custom reports if specific fields are required by the owner or GC.

4. What Superintendents Are Saying

"For the use of a subcontractor, it was helpful to know how many employees were on site for the day and being able to send information as a mass text. Also, the ability to be able to see if an employee was on the jobsite on certain days."

5. Tips & Best Practices

Get subcontractors to pre-register their crews before day one. Share the self-registration link with each subcontractor so their crews can register before mobilization. Otherwise, they would do registration via QR code during their safety briefing / orientation onsite. Some GC's prefer this workflow for that additional layer of verification should you want to confirm certifications, identification etc.

Use zone operational hours to enforce your work schedule. Set zone hours to match your actual work windows. Eyrus will automatically deny access outside those windows, so you don't need to manually manage who is or isn't allowed on site after hours.

Collect phone numbers at registration. Mass SMS is only as useful as the contact data behind it. Make mobile number a required registration field so you can reach everyone on site immediately for weather holds, safety events, or shift changes. NO landlines!

Use groups to manage your direct workforce. If you're responsible for a specific set of workers — your own GC staff, or a particular phase crew — use the Groups feature to tag them together. You can then filter certain actions and messages to that group without sorting through the full site roster.
